-Communicates via the obdII plug in the cabin on the E39 M5 2000, no extra adapters needed.

- Whether NT510 can read TPMS codes or not (Specifically to tell which TPMS receiver is malfunctioning), it depends on the vehicle,If your car has the ability to provide this information the tool will be able to pull this data.

- can read and reset O2 sensor readiness codes but will not code them off permanently.

- Updates can be skipped; sequential installation of updates is not required.

- Can reset "Right/Left Cornering light" warnings on 2011 335d caused by after-market halo installation. To properly clear the error code you need halos with proper resistance, this will cause the car's computer to automatically reset the warnings.

Initialization of the EPC Database Has Failed Solution

Here is the customer solution to MB Star diagnosis EPC.net software "initialization of the epc database has failed" error.

Problem:
Does anyone know how to resolve the following error: "initialization of the epc database has failed" ?

for EPC 2.2016 (downloaded database)
running on windows 7 ultimate x64

i do everything but all solutions in vain
- downgrade Java version
- kill TBmux32.exe process when i installing ewa
- turn off UAC
-run admin tool "as administrator
Initialization of the EPC Database Has Failed
valid keys are provided, but regarding permissions as workshop i dont know this point
epc-error-1
epc-error-2
epc-error-3
I uninstall EWA completely, remove it from windows registry, delete DB folder, restart PC, start installing everything from scratch.. still the same error msg!

I spent some time in investigating the solution and finally solved the problem with the guidance of MB owner.

Solution:
Look what I did but don't follow yet:
1. Stopped all EPC/WIS/Core/Application services.
2. Renamed E:\db folder to E:\db1
3. I used CleanEWAInstallation.vbs located in the installation DVD\ewa\tools
4. Rebooted.
5. Manually deleted the ewa folder from its installed location (C:\Program Files (x86) in your case).
6. Manually deleted all ewa keys from the registry (It would take less than 10 minutes).
7. Renamed E:\db1 folder back to E:\db. As you see I did NOT delete E:\db folder as it only should be deleted if you are sure that you have corrupted EPC/WIS databases, otherwise it will waste your time copying the ROM files again.
8. Uninstalled Daemon Tool
9. Rebooted
10. Installed Alcohol 120%. (May ask to reboot before completing the installation).
11. Mounted EPC 02.2016 B1 DVD.
12. Installed ewa in C:\Program Files not in C:\Programme as installed before.
13. Added EPC/WIS keys.
14. Installed EPC database. (It will only take seconds as all files already there in the E:\db folder).
15. Tested EPC and working.
16. Installed WIS database. (It will also take only seconds as all files already there in the E:\db folder). It might ask for the EPC b1, use EPC 06.2016 B1 update DVD.
17. Tested WIS and working.
18. Update EPC and WIS to version 06.2016.

To your case I suggest that you follow my instructions except step 6 where registry keys are manually deleted. This could cause your operating system to malfunction if you are not sure what you are doing.
Also make sure that you use different ewa folder for installation. I suggest c:\ewa
Result:
It WORKS !!!! yes really works.

Working like a charm !

How to use Foxwell GT80 diagnostics for Oil Light Reset

Here, you will be guided to reset oil light using Foxwell GT80 diagnostic platform; that is, this scanner will allow you to reset the service lamps. The Service Indicator System is designed to alert the driver when the vehicle is due for a service.

Oil service reset methods are determined by the vehicle being tested.

Depending on the vehicle being tested, any of the following means displays:

  • Oil Reset With One Button
  • Manual Reset
  • Auto Reset

- Oil Reset with one button

Oil Reset With One Button is applicable to GM models only. It offers quick

and simple oil service reset with the click of one button.

To do Oil Reset With One Button on a year 2010 Chevrolet passenger car

- Manual Reset with Foxwell GT80

Almost all Asian vehicles and most American and European vehicles have

mechanical oil service indicator reset. The service tool does not have to

communicate with the vehicle being tested, but guides you to complete the

service manually by providing step-by-step on-screen instructions.

When Manual Reset is selected and the vehicle being tested identified, a

procedure opens on the screen. Scroll with arrow keys to read the entire

procedure and performing the necessary steps as directed by the on-screen

instructions. The exact order of the test operation steps may vary depending

on the test vehicle. Be sure to follow all on-screen instructions.

This manual reset procedure can be interrupted and aborted if the ignition

key position is changed.

How to do oil reset manually:

1.Enter vehicle information by certain VIN characters, such as model, and

year to identify the vehicle being tested and press OK key to confirm.

Select Engine Control Module and follow the on-screen menu to select Oil

Life Reset.

Foxwell AutoMaster NT644 feedback Yes or No

This post collects foxwellshop customers’ feedback on Foxwell AutoMaster NT644 multi-brand full-system scanner test reports Yes or NO on the specific models and function. And for some NT644 fail to do, NT510 and GT80 can do, go on reading for details.

EPB function on 2012 year Porsche -yes

2014 Isuzu mux lst diesel 12V, Australian – No.

DPF regeneration on Mitsubishi pajero 2008 7 seats, engine: diesel 3200 engine type: V98W (this brand is called shogun/montero instead of pajero) - yes

Cover abs and airbag one one Australian ford and Toyota hybrid Camry - yes (Tip: the workable year is different from one model to other; it covers up to 2015 year).

Own a 2004 Chevy 2500HD 8.1L and a 2006 VW Passat 2.0T, the best option is NT500 scanner, and it covers all the function of NT500. Get one NT510 scanner with one car model software for free and another one software for 60USD. NT644 compare with NT510: NT644 scanner cannot cover all function of NT500, there are two functions NT644 not support SAS and Bi-directional control tests.

I have a 2010 BMW 335d, 2003 Volvo S40, 2012 Volvo S60, 2004 BMW Z4 2.5L, 2004 Ford Ranger 4.0L and a 1998 Toyota Rav4.

To reset Battery configuration on the BMW 335d, I use foxwell NT4021

To diagnose, I use foxwell AutoMaster NT644.

However NT4021 and NT644 not meet all my demands, I got one Foxwell GT80 $1,200 free shipping (Compared with GT80 Plus, GT80 has no internal battery and with different appearance). I used it to reset Battery configuration on the BMW 335d, Air Bag code reading/reset on 2003 Volvo S40,  to read/reset more than just the P codes, to cover ABS,  to reset service reminders on the BMWs and Volvos, to close window from key fob.

What the similarities and differences among NT510, NT624, NT644 and NT414?

Foxwell NT510 function is same as GT80Plus and GT80, it support few car models like 1. Chrysler/GM/Honda, Acura/Hyundai,Kia/Toyota,Lexus, Sicon/Land Rover, Jaguar/OPEL, Vauxhall/VW, AUDI, Seat, Skoda/BMW/Fiat. E.G. Nt510 can be used for BMW bleeding the brakes and also for actuation of the abs pump, also code a new battery in the car. And for simple BMW diagnostic NT510 is the best.

NT510 is one model for free and other models need to pay.

NT624 is full-system diagnosis for full car makes, but its diagnostic function is not as powerful as NT510.

NT644 is NT624+Special function

NT414 can diagnose four system for all makes.

Where to get AutoMaster Pro NT644?

Directly bought from the authorized dealer at www.foxwelltool.com, it is available with 18months free update online, after 18months the update cost is 100USD/ year at foxwelltech site and sometimes it is on sale for a lower price. The update will not turn back to Chinese script. one year warranty.
