MB SD C4 Device not connection solution

One of our customer had the device not connection problem when using Mercedes MB SD Connect C4 diagnostic system. Here is the working solution provided by mbstarshop.com engineer.

 Solution:

You are required to update the MB SD C4 firmware follow the guide here:

1. Install SD Connect C4 battery 
2. Update SDConnect

He did follow the solution but still had the file for software update error

The problem is that the names are wrong in file “SDconnect Toolkit “, you need to correct them as:

Update_automatic , Update_manual ; Update_Special

How 04 BMW E46 325xi do DIY diagnose using Foxwell NT510 scanner

Below post starts with BMW 2004 BMW 3 series E46 325xi need a simply handheld diagnostic tool to diagnose any potential issues (used by DIYer), then Foxwell Multi-system NT510 scanner is used, how it step - by - step to do, reading following parts for details.

Step - by -step procedure:

At begining, I plugged into the OBDII port (The unit will power-up as soon as it's plugged in) then the start-up screen show as below, I got four options:

1) OBDII

2) Manufacturer Specific

3) Setup or Settings

4) Playback for previously saved data

The device is handheld so easy to use and set-up is pretty self explanatory. I use the arrow buttons and enter/back buttons to cycle through the scanner.

Select the OBDII function, it'll immediately have an auto-scan of your vehicle for any DTC. As you can see below, my scan came back with no codes found.

After Foxwell NT510 scanner finish the scan and you press OK, it'll take you to the 'Diagnostic Menu'. Here you will be able to view in-depth descriptions of any codes that may have popped up and save and/or erase them.

If you select the vehicle specific option, you will cycle though a handful of menus until you come to your correct make & model, e.g BMW 3 series E46, 325xi_M54_SAL, version: USA_LHD, Model year:2003-09

After you've choosed your exact vehicle model, you will have four categories to choose from;

How to bleed the air out of BMW X5 ABS block using Foxwell NT510 scanner

Below starts with BMW 05 X5 E53 4.4i Dreaded ABS block "air bubble trap", finally  Foxwell NT510 multi-system scanner bleed the air out of ABS block, go on reading for details.

Car model: BMW 05 X5 E53 4.4i with 90K on the clock

Symptoms and Issue:

Simply speaking, Dreaded ABS block "air bubble trap".

Description: at the beginning, 05 X5 E53 is no brake pedal. I Topped off the master cylinder (it was only slightly low) and tried to pump them up only to find that I had become yet another victim of the dreaded brake line blowout. - Ended up with a huge puddle under the driver side door and having to replace all of the lines that run down that side. I have that done, I of course can't get all of the air out of my ABS block.

I plan to use it to get into "bleed mode" and try to get the rest of the air out of my lines.

I get mine Foxwell NT510 scanner, get my ABS bled, which it worked perfectly for by the way and then get slammed at work.

this will be a solid diag and reset tool.

my local Dealership wanted $650 to bleed the air out of my ABS block after I ran my new lines and for $179 I was able to buy the Foxwell, set my ABS to bleed mode and save myself $450 - so all in all, I'm still saying it was a good investment for me in the end.

Foxwell NT510 multi-system scanner using tips:

1. Foxwell NT510 is a multi-brand tool (many manufacturers listed in the manual). It is packed with no car software, you are supposed to register and download one software for free on the official site foxwelltech.com, and buy additional manufacture packages also via the Foxwelltech site, $60 for each manufacture package.

Update is free for 18 months on foxwelltech site after the end-user registers the tool with Foxwell.

2. One friend regret getting one clone Foxwell NT510 that was unable to register at official site and update. So, do some homework before buy one is rather important, the original Foxwell NT510 is usually available at the authorized dealer who can off authorized certificate (usually they upload it on their shop, if not contact them). How to solve MB SD C4 HTT-WIN failed to communicate

It is a long story...

I recently got a MB SD Connect C4 clone (a low quality one by its looks)
The multiplexer I got shipped with the following firmware:

OS: 2.2.2

CSD: 2.03

When I tried to use the mux on this firmware in 03.2014 XENTRY, I was not able to connect to the car and kept getting errors. So I watched webmaster's SD connect videos and renamed the 3 update folders in C:\Program Files\SDconnect Toolkit and it worked! XENTRY was working well.

The problem was when I was unable to get HHT-WIN to work. After reading around on forums, I saw this post (post #5)

- and realized that renaming the update folders may be the cause of HHTWIN not working.

A this point, I thought of using webmaster's method to update the mux and rename back the update folders to original name.

Before updating the mux, I wanted to rename back the update folders to original and open HHTWIN through DAS standalone and test if it works - (this is because I thought that only XENTRY would attempt to install updates to the mux (which might not be safe as using webmasters method to update is safest)

So I renamed back the update folders to original names and restarted the PC and mux. I opened HHTWin through DAS standalone and surprise surprise, it updated the mux after opening HHTWin:

The update happened even though I had not inserted any batteries in the SD connect! After the update, the mux rebooted and HHTWin was working perfect!

I tested it with XENTRY without renaming the update folders and it works well - no more errors. So here i suggest you to but SD connect c4 from a reputable site like mbstarshop.com, they sells sd c4 with OS: 2.3 and CSD: 2.11.2 of high quality, but for HHTWin, it must be with software before 2015.12 version or even earlier.

Now I seem to recall this may be how my HQ multiplexer got updated to latest firmware (by using HHTWin in 3.2014 XENTRY), although at that time I did not know about MB SD C4 firmware, so I may not have noticed.
